Hi

I recently attended a very well known club in sl that has 75k traffic and openly advertises live dj's. My question is then why was I banned for one week from that particular club for asking for 3 songs in open chat. If the dj is live what is the problem. I never deviated from the type of music being played but was promptly told this dj does not accept requests. Please some one tell me why. If a dj is live and not playing a pre recorded set list then why can they not do a basic search on sam and play the songs asked for.

The problem with sl is that the music we hear and often told to be live is not. If a dj loves his/her work they will and should respond the their audience rather than sit at their pc and press play. Is that live all because you are sitting at your computer..I do not think so. Live is the ability to change, live is the ability to involve your audience even if the song that has been requested is crap in the eyes of the dj.
The audience is the true power, the audience should dictate not the dj. A pre recorded set means the dj is not going to or even going to consider interupting for a stupid song. Well i am sorry you are not and i repeat NOT LIVE.
Help me save live music and stop the con artists..ask for your song and insist it is played if not find some where that does.

i know the club jj your on about and well its not live music
this club dj,s just play albums or music that they have pre recorded
though they have sevral 1000 members and have been going sevral years
people are unaware of the con and the club is not going to tell people that they are just playing pre recorded music and any one that trys to expose them they will bann

my own club zapp may not be 24/7 and may not boast x number of dj,s
but we are live ! and you can tell this by our dj board and shoutcast board
if i could get more staff and more dj,s (not flip monkeys ) belive me zapp would go 24/7 and show what a real club should be like ! till that time we play our own radio station through the club

Its amazing how few people even care that they are being conned....all because this is an artificial world it in no way means we should put up with false advertising. It concerns me that if you go to an rl club and the dj refuses requests they are often replaced on the spot, but here in sl that is not the case....the latest album from ibiza is not live...the dj that recorded it was but not the mindless con artist saying it is their own mix on sl...i would like to hear more from club lovers and live music lovers...live music is an awesome experience hearing a skilled dj mix live is an extremely forfilling experience and a skill that is mastered through years of practise...and of course a live dj always misses every now and again and mis not electronically corrected through a studio like it is done on albums...if u want live music then make those requests and help me expose the fakers

I know exactly how you feel
I love live music, but unfortunately here on sl many think they can fool you into believing that they are playing live when in fact it is the latest download from ibiza...it makes me mad as i insist the dj's at my club take requests and not just the odd one but you can request 4 or 5 or 6 , however many you like....as long as the dj has them well they will be played and mixed live..if they are not the dj does not stay for long.

Live music is a wonderful experience regardless of where you are whther it besl or rl...and i urge all sl residents who love music..if your club advertises live then insist on it..if not find one that does
